Amazing fresh pasta, pizza, antipasti, desserts, wine and venue! This place has the whole package when it comes to rustic Italian restaurants in London. The decor in this places makes you really feel like you're in a popular Italian street restaurant, not pretentious but just serving up amazing food. The different types of fresh pasta on offer are shown to you on a wooden board (similar to how you'd get shown different cuts of meat at a top end steak house), so you'd be hard pressed to choose just one. The classic spinach and ricotta ravioli is perfect, and tastes so fresh. The menu is not massive but just right, with a great selection of traditional Italian stone baked pizza's also, they taste amazing and cooked so well!!! Didn't think I could demolish one to myself but I managed this easily. When it comes to dessert, the Tiramisu is a must have for it's lightness and perfect balance of sweetness, cream and coffee as well as being visually appealing when it arrives. The restaurant doesn't take online bookings, so best call up before to see if you can make a reservation and likelihood of getting a walk-in table. Also might want to be wary of where Google maps takes you if navigating to this place, as I ended up around the back of a apartment building, but the actually main entrance is further down the road.

One of my favorite Italian restaurants in London (and the best I've found in Islington by far). Pizzas are phenomenal with generous toppings and their pasta looks incredible as well.

Amazing pasta, probably the best I had in London so far, the tiramisu is absolutely fab too! I will definitely (often) come back!

Worth the walk from Angel/Upper St/Highbury. Hell, it's worth the trip from pretty much anywhere in London. The food here is utterly superb, and the service is equally good.

The gem of Angel. Authentic, family owned Italian restaurant with all of the best Italian ingredients and flair. An institution within the area. Get the handmade pasta or the wood fired pizza...you'll always make the right choice!
